The second book in the 'Knitting New' series from Stewart, Tabori and Chang is out! It's Knitting New Mittens and Gloves by Robin Melanson. Robin has designed "28 innovative ways to warm and adorn your hands". Check out Grumperina's review of this book.

You may wonder ...what do these scarves look like on people? Here are a few sites that have posted pictures on human or humanlike forms.
I love the colors and asymmetry of this Hourglass.

The Striped Illusion shown here looks like a more substantial yarn than I used in the book and seems a better choice than mine ...especially in cold climates.

In the second post, 'Pictures For Helen', Steffi models her version of Stacked Wedges several ways.

Kathy, a.k.a. Grumperina, has finished her Drifting Pleats from Knitting New Scarves, and her scarf, photos and commentary are wonderful. Take a look at her 'Southern Lady Scarf' post -

My book has been out for a month now, and I'm both happy and relieved that its reception has been very good so far.
Like many knitters, I'd rather not buy a knitting book sight unseen, so I've posted the following links where pictures from my book can be viewed, along with reviews and comments. Hopefully these links will be helpful in deciding whether to purchase or avoid the book... preferably the former.

Also, Melanie Falick at Stewart, Tabori and Chang (publisher of 'Knitting New Scarves') has started her own blog, where she will be hosting a
knitalong for the book. I'll be visiting there and answering questions.
If you don't feel like participating in the knitalong, but still have questions, feel free to email me, knit@sweaterscapes.com.
